In the world we are in today, we could all take a break from the hustle and bustle. We are always on the prowl of new books to read, but these book series will have you gripping your seat!

We all know the feeling of coming to the end of a good book and feeling…well, deflated. Because we do not want it to end! The pretty bow the author has tied for us does not in fact answer all of our questions, and we wait and what because we know that cannot have been the end!
Well, book series are an excellent way to continue the story. Sure, sometimes you have to wait for the publication of the next one in the series, but it is always worth the anticipated wait.
For this summer, we wanted to give you our series recommendations of binge worthy books to read! However, we have many more, but let’s focus this Summer 2021 on some light and easy reading. These series are mostly teen or tween novels, but are easy to read and full of hopefulness. There is also some love and some darn good plot writing, so grab a drink, grab a blanket, and snuggle up to these summer binge worthy book reads!

- The Selection by Kiera Cass
This series was amazing. Aside from the fact that there are more than four books in the series alone, they also did other character viewpoint books around the most talked about drama in the books. The Selection is based somewhere and sometime in the future in a dystopian society that is now being governed and ruled by patriarchs again.
The premise of the story is like the bachelor for a government and royal family. The young women of the country are “selected” to compete for the hand of the crown prince in a type of pageant and dating game. It is interesting to see the differing main characters and their motivations to win the heart of the prince. Read and watch the drama and love story unfold!
2. Matched by Ally Condie
Coming in again with another futuristic world view that is changed and government controlled. This again is about young individuals who are trying to find themselves while also having to conform to society’s strict norms. So strict in fact, that the entire book is based off of your government matching you to your mate based on your personality scores.
Can you imagine? The government controlling your dating profiles? And then picking for you?!? This is another three part series where a strong young woman realizes the wrongness in what is happening around her and aims to change things for herself.
3. The Great Hunt by Wendy Higgins
The Great Hunt is also an altered world; this one completely fictional. A world where there are people who are born with magical powers that must be suppressed and ousted from society. That in itself is an interesting plot line, but the main story surrounds the peril that the royal family and their subjects finds themselves in when a beast begins hunting in their land. Hunting people that is.
The rest of the story consists of hunters enticed to the land by offers of marriage to the princess if they are able to capture and kill the beast. Plot twists and love stories are in abundance in this story, but yes, there is a second book! My sister and I agree that the second book is actually far more interesting and relatable than the first as the main characters begin their journey on finding themselves and their place within their society.
These are some of my favorite young adult series (outside of the more famous series such as Twilight and the Hunger Games). There are so many more books and book series out there that we will definitely keep you posted on our most recent reads. Enjoy, Dolls!
