Banana Bread is a favorite in my house. This amazing recipe came from my husbands Grandmother. My kids love adding chocolate chips to her original recipe to create the ultimate Chocolate Chip Banana Bread!

I have made this recipe for my family for years. The chocolate chips in this banana bread make it more of a special treat. You could put in walnuts or pecans instead of or in addition to the chocolate. Baking times will vary depending on your oven. I like to put a sheet pan in the oven while it is preheating. I then place my loaf pans on top of the sheet pan, turning them around half way through the baking time. The sheet pan makes it easier for me to remove the loaf pans from the oven. I can’t tell you how many times I have burned my hand trying to remove a loaf pan.
My kids love to help me bake. For this recipe they help smash all of my bananas. My daughter is our household egg cracker. I suggest having them crack eggs into a separate bowl so that shells can be pulled out more easily. My son is my measurer, he does a very thorough job, making sure the cups are level. They both absolutely love eating chocolate chips while they help!
