For all of my adult life our families have lived out of state, flying to visit soon became a necessity. My kids have come along with me from infancy on. I learned quickly what would keep me sane and what we never needed to pack again. Here are my best tips to keep everyone happy!

My best advice for traveling with toddlers is to bring an airline approved car seat. It seems like it would be a hassle to lug through the airport, trust me, it is worth it! My kids both carry a backpack for their own snacks, drink and entertainment supplies. They love having a job to help out with when we are traveling. Here are my the best products I have tried and used for years. I hope you and your family love them as well.
Car Seat for the flight
This car seat works great for kids under 65 pounds. They make lots of different ones, do your research. I like this one because it is lightweight and works for a wide range of weights. I then use this once we have landed in the rental car, rather than having another car seat just for the car. I only use this seat for travel purposes.
Electronics carrier
The carrier has lots and lots of little pockets for charging cables, tablet, back-up battery pack, etc. Both of my kids have one of these in their backpack to keep their iPad. I download movies in advance for them to watch once we are in the air.
Water bottle
These water bottles are my favorite because the straw is easily replaceable. Until I found this one, I had no idea that some companies didn’t make replacement lids or straws.
Car Seat Travel Belt
The car seat travel belt attaches the seat you plan to bring on your flight to your carry-on luggage. I love this because it mean there is just one thing for me to roll through the airport rather then two. This one is a must!
Travel Lunch Box
My favorite travel lunch box has so many different containers, so I can pack options. The best thing for take off and landing is a sucker, I prefer these low sugar pops.
Activity book
This reusable activity book is the best. They can use it again and again. I also love taking this on long car trips and to restaurants.
